Business digitalization systems and corporate solutions

We have enough competencies in the field of automation and optimization of business processes. The functioning of the company is associated with numerous business operations, such as procurement, payroll, maintenance, expendables and much more. Business processes can be automated for any company in order to free up funds and resources and use them for the development of the company. Simplification, standardization and reduction of the number of systems and applications is the key to the efficiency of any business. Andromeda offers extensive experience in studying the company’s business procedures, as well as in designing and developing optimized business software systems adapted for your company.

The key point in the digitalization of business is the combined high-level competencies on the Business side and business analytics on the side of the software implementation team. An important requirement for the successful digitalization of a particular business is the provision of a broad-profile person from the Business side who understands how the entire business cycle works in each division. Digitalization does not require a narrow-profile specialist as a representative from the Business side. The representative should be maximally involved in the digitalization process, ideally when he departs from his tasks within the company and works only with the supplier of the digital product.

When all the conditions for the start of business digitalization are met, data collection begins and requirements are compiled based on the data obtained. This process is key, as Businesses always want to know the exact number of funds needed for digitalization. Thus, development often takes place according to the Fixed Price model, when the development price and Business requirements are fixed, if any changes are made, then this is discussed and agreed upon additionally.

Therefore, to fix the final price, you must first fix the requirements, this is done using the Discovery Cycle. Discovery is the development of system requirements. It includes:

  1. text documentation,
  2. technical specifications,
  3. dynamic prototypes (visual clickable, logical interface without coding),
  4. role policy models,
  5. designing the interaction of each individual entity.

When Discovery is done and agreed with the Business, the total cost of development can be fixed on it.

There is also another calculation model – Time & Material (TM). According to this model, the customer buys the working time of the team, each team member has its own man-hour cost. Such a model does not require detailed Discovery, as is the case with the Fix Price. At the same time, TM allows you to approach development more flexibly and change the vector of development of the software product on the go. TM is better suited for the implementation of startups when you act in conditions of complete uncertainty and test hypotheses. The main reasons for the customer ‘s fear of working on TM are as follows:

1. The exact cost of development is unknown

It’s not so. Indeed, you will not receive the exact cost, but you will usually be provided with a fork of terms by which you will be able to estimate the maximum financial costs. As a rule, TM works much more profitable for the customer, since a lot of unforeseen risks are laid in the Fixed Price. And according to TM, you pay only for the time that is actually spent.

2. How do I know that the team worked the exact number of hours that I’m paying for?

Before the start of the sprint, the team splits large tasks into small subtasks and an approximate estimate of labor costs is made for each of them. This is all agreed with the customer before the start. Thus, the customer understands how much tasks should be completed at the end of the sprint, the volume may be exceeded, this often happens because the team always has to evaluate tasks with a time margin in order to lay down the risks of delays. Our approach is based on the following principles: we need to exceed the customer’s expectations, he will be pleased to pay for the sprint at the same price, and get more than planned, and it follows that the whole product will be developed faster and at lesser cost. But there are also rare cases when the tasks taken for the sprint do not have time to implement. In this case, it is necessary to warn the customer in advance and explain the reason why the task was incorrectly evaluated.
